STATEMENT:

These things I inherited from my father: A mirror he found on the street in Brooklyn, painted, and brought all the way to Montana before deciding it would be mine—and the name of ‘Henry Miller,’ whose portrait was painted on my father’s denim jacket and whose books, dog-eared and coffee stained, were wedged into his pockets the year I became his daughter.

Through the language of Miller, the world—and its illnesses—linger in the depths of a relationship we no longer have the opportunity to repair.
